It Simply Causes the Vehicle to Overheat!
See the "HOW IT WORKS" Tab for details
Law Enforcement is constantly evaluating and improving their Policies as to when a Pursuit is warranted and when it is best to use other techniques. There are various levels internally to perform this never ending process of evaluation and Policy adjustment. In spite of these efforts and all alternative methods to avoid a Pursuit, it is still a matter of fact that they will occur.
It is the position of us at Pursuit Terminator to try to fill the gap for when a Pursuit does occur. It is our goal and desire to provide a System that can safely end a Pursuit once it has been initiated. No INNOCENT PERSON should ever be the victim of a Pursuit Gone Bad!
Pursuit Terminator provides a tool for Law Enforcement so that when all other Policies and Procedures fail and a Pursuit does occur, the outcome will be much less likely to involve Death and Injury of Innocent victims! We encourage all Law Enforcement to work with various Victims Advocate Groups such as PursuitSafety.org and PursuitWatch.org, to help review and amend Policies to make Pursuits the last option for Officers in the Street.
There is NO NEED to try to develop some sort of complex Electronic Device that has limited use and initial very high cost and Maintenance!
NO NEED to reinvent the wheel and make the solution to this problem more complex than the problem its self!
NO NEED to use devices that only make the drivability of the fleeing vehicle more difficult and unstable (like Spike Strips)!
NO NEED to have to install very expensive one time use devices that can be inadvertently used on unintended motorist or Police Vehicles! If my system is used on the wrong vehicle NO HARM NO FOUL! The car simply needs to pull over as soon as it is safe to do so, remove my device with VIRTUALLY NO DAMAGEto their vehicle and proceed unharmed on their way!!! This does not require any special tools or knowledge and can be successfully accomplished by most adults.
I have a patent pending way to safely stop police pursuits.
It is so incredibly simple how it works! It is one of those things that when you see how it works you will likely say, "wow, why didn't I think of that".
It does not require any high-tech, complex equipment. It DOES NOT cause the fleeing suspect to have reduced control of their vehicle. It DOES NOT put other motorist, pedestrians, animals, property or law enforcement at any unnecessary risk and IT IS ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY!
STEERING, BRAKING AND VISIBILITY are not affected. It causes the fleeing vehicle to come to a SLOW SAFE CONTROLLED STOP!!! It does not impair steering or braking like Spike Strips. It IS NOT ELECTRONICand IT DOES NOT DEFLATE THE TIRES there is NO PROJECTILE. It is MAINTENANCE FREE (except after a usage). It can be USED ON CARS OR TRUCKS and will be effective on around 99% of these. System can be Deployed Remotely OFFICER DOES NOT NEED TO BE IN HARMS WAY!
Officers can be easily trained in proper use incorporating many of the procedures already used for Spike Strip deployment.
It even reduces the ability of the suspect to flee when the vehicle has been stopped (this is where most suspects are actually effective at an escape).
The United State Department Of Justice has expressed interest in this (they know how it works) but they need a prototype to evaluate.
The only current device or methods of trying to stop a fleeing suspect is the use of Spike Strips and the "PIT"
Maneuver. The Spike Strips as you know are deployed in the path of the fleeing vehicle and then pulled out of the way quickly (to hopefully prevent Pursuing Officers from running over them) once the fleeing vehicle runs over (or around) them . Even if the fleeing vehicle does run over the spikes that does not guarantee an end to the Pursuit! In many cases this only makes it more dangerous as the fleeing suspect desperate not to be apprehended only continues on in a no holds barred attempt to avoid apprehension. As they continue their effort the controllability of the vehicle only becomes more unstable as a result of the disintegrating Tires, wheels (rims) then Brake components and so on.
With the PIT Maneuver an Officer tries to position their vehicle (while traveling down the Roadway) to one side of the fleeing vehicle or the other in a precise position just to the rear of the rear wheels. At what the Officer believes to be the appropriate time they steer their vehicle against the rear of the other vehicle and produce a lateral push against that portion of the vehicle. If all goes according to plan and extensive, expensive training the fleeing vehicle will loose control and spin-out (This still does not disable the fleeing vehicle). Now though you could end up with TWO vehicles careening out of control. That means you could have potentially three or more TONS of metal flying uncontrollably down or off of the Roadway. Is that really a good idea???
My System prevents any of these risks as stated in the original description.
Let us bring an end to this needless death and destruction.
